CUTS International with support from the British High Commission, is implement a project titled National Public Procurement Policy of India.
CUTS International is organising a series of regional stakeholder consultations to understand their experience in public procurement system and to obtain stakeholder inputs on the Elements of Public Procurement Policy of India and thereby advocate the promulgation of National Public Procurement Policy to be put in place in India. Such a policy will not only is needed to include the basic ingredients of transparency, fieriness competition and value for money but also need to include its interface with other major macroeconomic policies such as manufacturing policy, competition policy, sustainable procurement, trade policy, fiscal policy and state-government-level-procurement policy. These meetings are being held in Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, and Ranchi.
