This training programme will provide an overview of essential features of economic diplomacy with particular focus of India’s experience with economic diplomacy. The thematic sessions are devoted to discuss various dimensions of Sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) measures that includes WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary Measures, India’s Implementation Concerns of the WTO SPS and Emerging Issues on SPS Matters in India and on issues regarding operation of Private/Voluntary Sustainability Standards in India.
The methodology adopted in the training programme includes lectures, case analysis, simulation exercises, interaction with experts/group discussion and will provide strategic understanding, develop core skills and encourage in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of the subject. The training programme will be conducted by a team of eminent experts/practitioners from the field of economic diplomacy and on SPS measures and related matters while the participants will middle officials from various government departments.
