Losses from extreme weather quadruples in 30 years as climate warms

Colombo Declaration: Revolutionary statement on Poverty Eradication; Nothing on Human Right issues

Commonwealth Heads of state has made a revolutionary statement in their Colombo Declaration on Poverty Alleviation. But though some countries tried to put Sri Lanka on the dock in the CHOGM conference, the Colombo declaration has not said a word about Sri Lanka as well as anything on Human Right issues.

Commonwealth Leaders Commit to Development Goals

Commonwealth Heads of State and Government reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable development in a bid to secure a better future. In a communiqué issued at the end of the three-day Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the leaders acknowledged that eradicating poverty is the greatest global challenge facing the world today, and, therefore, the need to focus on sustainable development.
